How Green Are You?

Hi, today I am going to talk about how environmental friendly I am. First of all, I learnt about environmental practices in my school when I was in first media, it was in English, for a presentation I had to talk about environmental problems and how we can solve them. I didn’t change all my bad habits, for example I still take long baths, but on the other hand, I changed my habit of use too many lights or, with my family, we always buy environmental friendly lights.

I usually prefer to go to the places in bike or walking, because sometimes, in my opinion, is more comfortable and funny than go in car to the places. I have never helped to any eco organization, because I do not know any one so I could not help any. I would like to convince to my brother and sister to use less lights or less electrical things, because they use too many things at the same times, for example my brother, when he is studyng, he turns on all the lights of the room, and it is completely unnecessary, but he does not understand that. 

For reduce my carbon footprint I use less lights, I drink less drinks and more water, and when I buy drinks I always use recyclable packaging, and also, If I can, I always prefer to use the bicycle and my legs instead of a car or taxi or transantiago, and if I have to go to a place fast, I always prefer the subway, because it is more ecological than transantiago.

Finally, I think that our society needs an efficient campaign about the efficient use of energy, and also I think that chile needs to regulate to the mining companies, because those companies make more pollution that anything.

My Future Job

Hi, today i am going to talk about my future job.

I am studying odontology, so in my future I want to work in my beaing a dentis, with my own box, i imagine it like a very clean place, with all my stuffs for do all the procedures. Obviously it have to be indoors, because the outside is all with bacterias.

I don’t know if my job will allow me to travel, but if I earn the enough money for afford a travel, I will do it. My job have to be in a box, because there is all the things that I need for do a good job. I am not studying any major, and I don’t know yet which one I want, even, I don’t know if I want to do any major, because I think that they are not necessary, but maybe, with the passing of the years, I can change that opinion. Apart of be a dentist, I want to progress with my band, recording an album, because I don’t just to work or study odontology, I want to do things with my band, like record an album and do shows in some festivals, but that is just a dream, because I know that it is difficult to achieve

Post 5 (week 9) - THEMED POST N° 3 "My Favorite Food"

Hi, today i am going to talk about my favorite food.

My favorite food is fish with rice; I do not know why I like it, I just like it, a reason could be that it is very healthy, nutritive and also it is a big dish, so I always get satisfied. I usually eat it in my house or in any restaurant; unfortunately I cannot cook it very well. Other food that I like, and that I always, ask for in the restaurant is the “el ceviche”; I like it because I like the flavor of the mixture between the lemon with fish, shrimp and other seafood. My dad knows how to do it but we prefer to buy it in the restaurants. One again, I do not know how to do it, ceviche is more difficult than fish and rice, because the preparation of fish and other seafood is more special than fried fish. When I go to an Ecuadorian restaurant I always eat ceviche or fried fish with naranjilla’s juice, I think that it is my favorite juice. The “empanadas de pino” are also my favorite food, I always go to la fuente suiza with my family or friends to eat it; the last year, I used to walk from my school to my house, so in the way was la fuente suiza  therefore all the weeks I ate empanadas.

My scores on the quizzes were good, I have some problems with the listening, it is only because sometimes I'm not accustomed to the kind of English of the people that talks in the tlaks of the listenings.

What do you think about compulsive spenders?

I think that it is bad, because it is like any other addiction, for example, if you are alcoholic you can spend all your money in drinks, it is the same with compulsive spenders, they can spend all their money in the mall so they can go easy to bankrupt. Something good is that you can get away of that addiction easly than alcoholism or drug addiction.

 What's the most common problem a Dentists
 face along their career?

I think that the most common problems along my career could be the time, because the career takes a lot of time, so sometimes you don’t have time even for things of the career. Other problem are the materials, they cost too much, and they are many so i always get confused. 

Post 8 (week 11) >> SUMMER PLANS

Hi, today I am going to talk about my summer plans.

In the next holidays, I am going to the beach, being more specific, I am going to guanaqueros that is a place near to la serena/Coquimbo, I am going to go with my friends. We want to go to the beach and to parties at la serena , but the most important thing that we want to do, is to pass time together like the school or like the last year, because the last summer we also went to guanaqueros (we want to do a guanaqueros 2.0).

 I also want to get my driver`s license, I did the course the last summer but I did not have the enough time for get the license, I think that have the license is something important, because, in some situations , drive could save us from troubles. Something important that I have to do again is bars, because the last summer I did not do bars, I think that do that kind of exercise is important for have a good health for the rest of the year, I also want to do running again and pass a lot of time with my family, and if we can (with my family) we want to go to ecuador to visit our family.

Finally, If I have to study something it could to be for the test drive, because I want to rest enough to have a good start of academic year.

PET (Preliminary English Test) Practice >> Session 1 (week 10)

1. Which of the three skills is more challenging for you?

The more challenging for me is the listening, because sometimes the people of the record speaks a little different from what I am used to hearing in English.

2. What task was the most difficult for you? Why?

In my opinion, the listening is more difficult than the other activities; it is because the same reason of the first question.

 3. What was the easiest? Why?

I think that the easiest is the vocabulary, it is because I have the enough vocabulary to understand all, or most of what I read

PET Practice

1.- In my opinion this activity is very useful for take conscience about weaknesses at the moment of reading, in my case, I believe that I have to read more, because my reading was very slow and the text was not difficult for read, other thing is that I always have been bad for the reading, especially in the kind of exercise of today.

2.-I want to go to the Great Wall of China, because it is very famous and is amazing how the chinse people did it, I want to go also because it is in china, so I can visit the rest of china too and not only the great wall.

3.-I think that English would help in the travels that I want to do in the future, for example when I went to France, in the first grade of media, I used more English than French, and that was because English is one of the more useful language of the world, so I can use it also in china or in India.

Pets

Hi, today I am going to talk about my pet.

I have a dog; my brother bought it in the last summer when he was just three months. We didn`t choose his name because the other people singed him up with the name of Dartagnan, we liked that name because it is the name of one of the three musketeers so it is a funny name for a dog.

 In the future I want to have another dog and choose his name; I have always wanted to have a dog called Calvin, in honor to snoop dogg. I love the dogs, because they are very funny and intelligent, I taught to my puppy to go to his bath that is a synthetic grass, so under of that grass there is a container, so my dog always go to the terrace of my department for do pee and poop in that container.

In think that the exotic pets need lots of care, so I don’t like them, because they also need more time and money, for example a tigger, they eats a lot of food, and they are too big, so they also need a lot of space.

Finally, I have to confess something, I had another pet apart of my little dog, it was an ant, I remember that I was in a class of English, and with my friend found the ant called Calvin, so we took it and we put it in a paper with walls, simulating that it was a house with pool and a lot of rooms that we draw, unfortunately, when we was changing our ant to a bigger house, we lost it, it was a huge loss.

My favorite sport

Hello, this week I am going to talk about my favorite sport. .

My favorite sport is football, I think that is because when I was child I liked  too much, I played every days in my recess, after the school and also the Saturdays. Nowadays, I don’t play football because I don’t have the enough time for do it, but I always watch football in the tv. I also like to go to the stadium to see to the glorious Universidad de Chile, but at the lasts months I couldn`t go because I don`t have time L the last time that I went to the stadium was in the summer.

I don’t practice football, but I would like to practice the next year in the cfg of the university.

 When I play football, I like to play in the defense or in the midfield, being more specific, like a lateral right. Because in that position I can be in the defense and also I can pass to the attack depending of the game.

The best Concert ever

Hi,

   Today I am going to talk about a concert that I liked too much, the band was Tiro de Gracia, which is an old Chilean band of rap, the last year they returned to the stage after years of absence. They were like the pioneers of rap in chili, so it was a pleasure to have the opportunity of watch them in live and chant songs like “Sueños”, “Melaza” or “El Juego verdadero”, I imagine that all the people in the place was thinking the same because the atmosphere of the concert was perfect, everyone knew all the lyrics. I remember that after the presentation I was aphonic. I think that this concert is my favorite because I knew all the songs, so it was funny to sing and jump a lot at the same time.  A funny moment in that concert was that I was with my friends jumping a lot, but suddenly all the people started to jump more and more so at the end everyone was dispersed.

Yes, we can use it to transport from London to other places in Uk or Europe. The cost of these trains depends on the time of day and which lines you use it.

A country i would like to visit

Hi,

Today I am going to talk about a place I would like to go. It is a very good theme, because there are many beautiful places; my first option would be Ecuador, because I am from Ecuador and it is a long time since I don’t see my uncles or my grandfathers or my counsins, so it would be great to see them again. I am Ecuadorian but I don’t know too much about it, because I grew up here in Santiago, I feel more like a Chilean than an Ecuadorian. I would not study there, because the education here in Chile is better than the Ecuadorian, but I would like to work there because I would like to help to improve the oral health in my town, I also would like to live there because it is quieter than here, and also more beautiful because it is a little town (cuenca) and there are less buildings, that is something that I like too much.
